PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Owner/Director
Art Always; Northampton, MA; August 2002 - Present

Founder and Director of Art Always, an art school for children, teenagers and adults offering after-school workshops, evening classes, open studio time, birthday parties, parent and child classes, professional development and private lessons.
Responsibilities include teaching, project and curriculum development, business strategy, marketing, maintenance of studio space, budgeting, ordering of supplies and community outreach.

 

Administrative Director
Deerfield Academy Summer Arts Camp (DASAC); Deerfield Academy, MA; December 2004-Present

Head of a management team in charge of on and off-season program planning/execution/administrative business for an alternative community focused on experimental and traditional arts in a 6 week, camp setting for young adults
Responsibilities include the compilation and organization of marketing materials; budget planning; ordering of supplies; hiring, training, oversight and evaluation of 23 staff members and 17 counselors in training; event planning; teaching and oversight of 210 students; direct interaction with parents, community members and Deerfield Academy staff and administration
Maintains responsibilities of Painting Studio Senior Teacher including management of the studio, daily curriculum design and oversight of a two, three week intensive projects in painting.

Visiting Artist

Hampshire County House of Correction; Northampton, MA September 2009 – December 2009

Participation in this grant run program for inmates includes project conception, development and teaching of weekly art sessions focused on art history and material exploration.

Williamsburg School Arts Adventure Day; Williamsburg, MA March 2009 and March 2008

Led a series of art workshops with groups of children in grades k – 6 as part of an art appreciation unit.

Four Winds School; Gill, MA September 2008- November 2008

Responsible for curriculum design, ordering of supplies and teaching of a 10-week series of art classes with students in grades 6 – 8.

Hampshire County House of Correction; Northampton, MA February 2008 – June 2008

Participation in this grant run program included project development and weekly art sessions with inmates culminating in an exhibition which showcased inmate art alongside art by local artists.
